About this tool

cctop is a keyboard-first macOS menubar app designed to help developers monitor and jump between AI coding sessions. It supports a variety of AI coding tools, such as Claude Code, Claude Desktop, opencode, pi, Codex CLI, and Codex Desktop. Each tool reports session events locally, and cctop turns them into one menubar view, allowing users to jump back to the right editor or terminal window.

cctop turns every AI coding session into a menubar signal: green means work is moving, orange or red means one session needs attention. It falls back to app activation inside a multiplexer (tmux, screen), where the captured tty is the multiplexer pane's pty rather than the Terminal tab's. It also includes worktree cleanup, which finds ended agent worktrees that still exist on disk, especially CLI or manual worktree runs.

cctop offers color schemes inspired by developer tools, such as Tokyo Night, Gruvbox, and Nord. It supports macOS 13+ and is Developer ID signed and notarized. After installation, users can connect their tools in Settings, and use the action shown on each row to install or update that tool's plugin or hook.
