Omnia: Everything at once!

Omnia is an open-source tool from Dell designed to simplify the deployment and management of high-performance computing (HPC), artificial intelligence (AI), and data analytics clusters on Dell PowerEdge infrastructure. It targets AI infrastructure engineers, data analytics teams, HPC administrators, and Dell PowerEdge operators. Key capabilities include: - Deploy and manage Slurm-based HPC clusters, including GPU-accelerated workloads and dynamic node management. - Deploy and configure Kubernetes service clusters for platform services, monitoring, and storage. - Support diskful provisioning (1.x) and diskless provisioning with containerized deployment (2.x). - Automate cluster deployment via GitLab CI/CD pipelines and the BuildStreaM catalog-driven workflow. - Manage compute, storage, and networking resources. - Install optimization libraries, machine learning frameworks, and AI models. - Provide day-2 operations: adding/removing nodes, re-provisioning, upgrading and rolling back Omnia versions, OIM cleanup, log management, and security hardening. Omnia follows a subscription-based monetization model, has a high learning curve, offers a public API, supports self-hosting, and has an active open-source community.
