SKILL DETAIL

defuddle

kepano/obsidian-skills/defuddle

The Defuddle skill uses the Defuddle CLI to extract clean, readable content from standard web pages, removing navigation, ads, and other clutter to reduce token usage. It is recommended over WebFetch when the user provides a URL to read or analyze, such as online documentation, articles, blog posts, or any standard web page. Do not use this skill for URLs ending in .md, as those are already markdown and should be fetched directly with WebFetch. Use the command `defuddle parse
--md` to get markdown output, or use the `-p` option to extract specific metadata like title, description, or domain.

## Usage

Always use `--md` for markdown output:

```bash
defuddle parse
--md
```

Save to file:

```bash
defuddle parse
--md -o content.md
```

Extract specific metadata:

```bash
defuddle parse
-p title
defuddle parse
-p description
defuddle parse
-p domain
```

## Output formats

| Flag | Format |
|------|--------|
| `--md` | Markdown (default choice) |
